Have you set out goals to achieve this week and have no idea on how or where to begin? You are not alone! Believe me, I experienced the same thing until I discovered my keystone habit.
Many of us know how difficult it is to make one change in our lives, but imagine if we intend to make more than one. You can already see how overwhelming that could get
However, with the keystone habit- you can focus on a single thing and it improves your life in multiple areas at the same time.
For example, if you wake up and go to the gym, you tend to find yourself wanting to eat healthier, you also see that you are more active throughout the day and sleep better at night and when you sleep better you become more productive
That keystone habit –gym- has created a whole ripple effect.
For me, it’s my morning jog. When I go for my run, I feel like I can take over the world, I eat healthier, my brain is sharper and I begin to check all my to-do list.
However, when I don’t, the opposite effects happen. My brain registers it as a ‘lazy day”- I get distracted easily and waste my time on unimportant tasks like scrolling through social media feeds.
Another of my keystone habit- the one I like to say it more mental than physical- is my refusal to go on any social media page till after my morning work, jog and breakfast- and after then, I start with the most important – emails!.
This ensures that my mood is not determined by external influences. I become in control of what I ingest and how I feel throughout the day.
Improving your lifestyle and checking your goals should not be as difficult as you might think. You just need to find one or two keystone habits that naturally put you on the path to success, and the great thing is that you probably already know what these behaviors are.
So tell me the habit you want to break/develop and that ONE thing that when you do – your day seems to go smoothly?
